The Southern Misfits Roller girls are part of the Hub City Derby Dames league, a non-profit organization formed to foster national and international amateur flat track roller derby competitions. As the first all-girl flat-track roller derby team in in Hattiesburg, MS, the Southern Misfits will offer, through open doors and open minds, all able bodied females 18 and up a chance to experience the sport we have brought here to this city no matter their sexual orientation, physical attributes, education or ethnicity.
We will support self-confidence, strength, empowerment, and individuality in all of our Derby sisters both on and off the track. We will push ourselves as individuals and as a team to perform at the best of our ability and to represent Roller Derby in a positive light. The safety of our skaters is our first priority, we will put forth nothing less than our best effort to teach proper technique and insist on roller derby grade safety equipment to participate in all practices and bouts. The rules, regulations and standards of play set forth by the WFTDA will be upheld to maintain the integrity of the sport.
